Rememberence For Fallen Warriors
Fallen Indigenous warriors, collateral damage victims of invasion and the millions lost in the Australian holocaust - is it time to honour them?

Each year in most colonial nations the dominant culture has at least one memorial day to honour the fallen in the various conflicts in which those nations have lost sons and daughters.
However, most of those colonies ignore the wars upon which their nations were built - the frontier wars with the Indigenous peoples during invasion, which are generally still continuing in one form or other today, as aboriginal warriors continue to oppose illegal occupying forces on their land.
Why are the fallen ignored? Well, possibly because you don't hold rememberence days for your enemy! But also, this is because in many cases the aboriginal wars and holocausts have been covered-up, denied and censored in colonial histories.
At least in America they include "Wounded Knee" and "Custer's Last Stand" in their history books. We get no such recognition in Australia.
