Is the glass half full or half empty? What sort of future can the world's aboriginal peoples look forward to?

·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸.·´¯`·...¸><)))º>

My recent article about the future is a little negative, to say the least, forecasting the annihilation of the world's aboriginal peoples.

This is a little problematic, as it kind of reinforces that myth that aborigines are dying out, have no future, and therefore should not be of concern.

But that said, I still have no idea how we will be able to achieve a positive future in Australia. We have an impossible situation here - 19 million boat people(ie. European and other colonists) and a few hundred thousand remnant traditional owners. The boat people have nowhere to go back to, but don't own the land. They can't give up what they have, but they can't keep it either. And my people need our land back before we can heal. And the boat people can't heal until we do. Catch 22.

I prefer to be more positive sometimes, just for sanity's sake. For a "glass is half full" view, check out the future forecast for Aoteoroa in Maori Renaissance.
